Advice on Thornit
« on: July 19, 2007, 10:20:32 AM »
Here's a question for all you inveterate Thornit users. :D

I received my Thornit powder, along with the instruction sheet, yesterday by post.
All of my dogs' ears are fine for the moment - checked out at the vet's last week.
Should I still apply Thornit initially twice a day for five days (according to the instruction sheet) or should I just start off using it e.g.once a week?
Any advice is most welcome. :D

If their ears are fine I would just use it once a week ;)  If the ears are clear I would be worried about them getting clogged up with Thornits using it that much.   :-\   In fact I use it less than that now on Coco - probably every 3-4 weeks.  That is probably down to my poor memory rather than anything else but her ears are pretty clean and have had no problems since we started using it  :D

Start off at once a week... I wouldn't use it daily if there is no problem with their ears. Vera

do you think once a week for Bracken too?  She had a "clean bill..." from the vet last week, including her ears, but when shes out on the lawn i notice sometimes that she rubs her ears along the ground as if trying to scratch them!  Apart from being clean, they seem a bit thickened to me (we had a lab years ago who had awful ear canal trouble, her ears were very thick).
She also chews and nibbles her feet quite a bit? :-\

Been using it every other day but only for a few days...
