Help xxxxx rated problem !!
« on: November 18, 2007, 08:11:35 PM »
Now how do I put this....our lhasa apso bitch Tilly will not stop licking Bostons bits ph34r....I'm not meaning the odd lick to clean him like she does his ears...it's all the time! Boston lies on his back with his paws in the air and falls asleep

We are really worried that she will make it sore or it will get infected, we keep telling her off and telling Boston not to be a ruddy doody boy but this is getting embarrasing when people pop to see us and we have a fllor show...it's just too much for my OH to watch :shades:

Has any one had this problem (with their dogs!! :005:) and why is she doing it? Boston sometimes gets fed up and growls at her to stop.

Is this a new "problem" I only ask because when Milo takes a fancy to Nancy's bits it generally means she already as an infection or there is one of the way.......he smells it coming before I spot it if that makes sense. Nancy has been proan to aaahhhhhhem one or two infections in her bits and Milo has always spotted it.

God be she just likes keeping his bits clean..........!?!?!?! :005:

She obviously has strong maternal instincts :shades: . Somebody ought to tell her that Boston is growing up  :005: .

Seriously though, I agree with Lisa,  that it could be because Boston has an infection and Tilly is reacting to that  :-\ .

Might be worth a trip to the vet. Gizmo gets obsessed with licking Jordies lips when his lip fold infection is flaring up  :P

We will phone the vet first thing tomorrow, we don't want our little boy to be poorly :luv:

Will let you know how he got on, thank you for your help

Boston went to vets and all is well, the vet took a good look and said it was extremely clean with no signs of redness or infection...thank goodness for that! We then had him microchipped....what a brave boy he was !! Strange thing is Tilly hasnt licked him since he came home !! :005:

We have had a bad day with Tilly though.....she snapped at our little boys face...she has never done such a thing and has snapped a few times after....oh dear we really dont know what is wrong, she also went to the vet and was checked over...all is fine with her and the vet couldnt see why she has changed over night :'(

I'm afraid the licking may well carry on for a long time... ph34r I hoped my cav would grow out of doing it.....Jarvis is now 16months old and she's still cleaning him as often. ::) I know the lying back position you mean too. :embarassed: And WHY do they have to do it in front of guests?! >:( So you're not alone, but no solution i'm afraid. :embarassed:

Hope you suss out whats up with Tilly... :-\
