Christmas tree water
« on: December 10, 2007, 10:29:50 PM »
Wasn't sure whether to put this in feeding or puppies as probably not a common request.

Have just risked putting up our real Christmas tree, which sits in a large base with a water reservoir.  Of course this is far more an interesting place to drink from, so Wilbur and Mabel are making a bee-line to drink from it.   >:D

Would the sap from the base of the tree poison the water or is it ok.  As much as we are discouraging them,we don'twant them at risk.  They have no interests in our baubels though which is a godsend

Is it a shop-bought tree? Unless it is organic, then I would be careful, as the trees are treated with chemicals, which I would worry more about than the sap  ;)

It was bought from a flower suppliers, but not sure as to whether organic.  Good point, I forgot about the evils of spray chemicals  :-\ :-\

Buddy used to do the same  ::) Always one for drinking water from anywhere but his drinking bowl  ::) Never did him any harm but I wouldn't encourage it.

Our pup did the same thing, resulting in splashes all over the floor. It didnt seem to cause any harm and last year, a simple 'no' was enough to keep her away. Have a lovely Christmas.
