bones
« on: January 27, 2008, 10:49:38 AM »
Has any one got any advice on those marrow bones and hide chews for puppies.  Ellie is five months, and chewing up all her toys and anything else at present.  Those bones never seem to indicate whether they are for adults or pups, and I'm a bit wary of giving her anything unsuitable.

Thanks

If you give any real bones, then make sure they are raw bones from the butcher's, not cooked/baked ones from pet shops.  ;) Our dogs love raw marrow bones and it keeps their teeth nice and clean.

sorry to ask for more info, but do the ones from the pet shop splinter? if so, why do they sell them, cos they must be quite dangerous.  Are the ones from the butchers ok for a 5 month old, and what do I ask for? sorry to be so thick but doggie novice I'm afraid   ;) Ellie currently chewing through everything, and destroying all toys. Thought a bone might help.
