First Walkies
« on: January 30, 2008, 05:52:15 PM »
Yeah! The time is finally here, Eric can go out for his first walk tomorrow.
The weather is supposed to be absolutely horrendous though, I hope we have a dry spell so we can walk around the block.
Does anyone else want to share their experiences of first walks to remind me how bad it is  :005:

Can't share any bad experiences, sorry  :005: - Honey loved her first walk, and has loved every walk since (except the one where it started hailing and we ran straight back home, as she was cowering under a neighbour's hedge!!!)....

.... now, the returning home with a wet and muddy dog, I can share plenty of bad experiences on that one!!!!

I remember my first walk with Groove, he was really good and it was a lovely summers day. I'm thinking my experience with Eric is going to be slightly chillier.
Getting home with a wet and muddy dog is always a good challenge, do you pick them up and get yourself filthy or do you just let them run straight through the house and then have to clean all the floors? Oh it's all coming back to me now. I can hardly wait  :005:

Ohhh how exciting for you!!   :D

We could just not wait to get Poppy out for our first walk - mainly because our arms were getting tired from carrying her everywhere!!!  I think we made it to the top of the street and back!  and OH was walking her and she fell down a grid (well put her foot down a grid - she still is a little wary of them now so I blame her grid phobia on OH  :005:

We were devastated cos we thought we had hurt her on her first day out  :'(- but they are tough little things and she was more interested in getting on with meeting the big wide world.....

I was just looking at the photo's yesterday of her first walk - she looks sooooo tiny compared to now (she is 7 months).

Hope the weather stays dry for you!  Take some pics and post PLEASE!!!

Poor poppy, I'm glad to hear that her bad experience hasn't put her off her walks though.
I can't wait for his maiden voyage up the street tomorrow.
I will try and take some photos but I am a terrible photographer and my camera is rubbish, I will try my best though

Aw how exciting for you!  I can't wait for Ernie to be able to go for his walk but he only had his first jab today so got another 4 weeks to wait >:(  I'm sure it'll go quick though.

Make sure you take some pics of his first walk and post on how he got on :luv:
