Attacking my feet! Help

Any advice for a pup who has taken to nibbling Mums jeans, slippers, trainers etc?  There are times when I literally have Humphrey hanging off my feet whilst I attempt to walk around the house.  I have tried standing still and saying a firm 'no' but that just seems to goad him on.  I don't really want to put him in his bed crate to calm down as he may think that bed means punishment but I am frightened he is going to walked on and hurt.

Blodwen is gaining confidence by the day and she does like licking and chewing our toes. She does respond to a firm no, so does stop, but then goes for them again - but I think she carries on because she wants attention! The other option has been to shriek loudly if her bites are hard which does stop her too.

I wouldnt put her in her crate in response to this, I try to give her chewy substitutes like her toys which she more than happily takes away at the moment. But as I mentioned, her confidence is growing all the time now, so she keeps pushing to see what she can get away with!

Me too. I seem to remember William hanging on to my trouser legs rather a lot. I also remember that when I hung the washing out I had to make sure it was all above puppy height after I caught him swinging off a towel one day!

Cari was really bad for attacking my trouser legs when I was walking down stairs, so I taught her to 'Back it up', which means go up the stairs a few steps and then follow me - this was easily done with a pocketful of treats  :D

I have just read all your previous advice on biting - hadn't seen all of it.  And there is clearly still lods for me to learn.  Dylan is biting us when we play and we do try to either shout NO or squeal so he knows that was naughty.  He gets it some of the time but not all.  We have watched the Dog Whisperer and had no idea this was a bad method to try and copy.  We assumed he was ok .....maybe not.  Am curious to find more info about him and his methods  :-\
Most of my advice or techniques has been from you guys.  Its still early days but will try to keep a routine and practise new games and skills with him over and over and over again.  I am sure one of us will pick it up  :005: :005:

It's all part of the new puppy phase I discovered. Just when I thought it wouldn't stop it did ! Ripley is now 5 mths old and
had decided to listen to us. She also has all her adult teeth which really helps with the biting. It does stop eventually I promise !!

Hi Sue, if you do a search on the dog whisperer you'll find tonnes of threads about him, he's rather a hot topic on COL :shades:
