Loved reading the various flushing stories and clever lionheart Dave raising two pheasants. There are adders in England?? I know there are in Scotland, but so far south? .

Yes unfortunately for us there are loads in the south, I'm lucky not to have had this happen before to be honest. I'm in the surrey hills which is on the Surrey/Sussex border and there's lots of pine forest and heathland here so perfect territory for them. My Weim was bitten on the face last Tuesdays and spent a night at the vets and is slowly getting back to normal now bless her, but it really knocked her for six and was very scary to watch how badly the bite affected her. The snakes are very dopey at the moment and full of venom after a winter sleeping so do watch the dogs when you're out just now. :-*

Well done Dave, unfortunately there's no hope for my "Gun dogs", only things they get excited about is deer tracks for Phoebe and little furries for Penny. They live with 2 ducks and have been trained not to chase, but didn't really need much training. Logan was always the dunce of the gundog training classes because he refused to chase dummies wrapped in fur or feathers. Think the other dogs thought he was mad as he just watched them throw it then looked the other way and refused to move. ph34r
