do i get a puppy yet
« on: September 09, 2011, 12:40:04 PM »
hi all
we are seriously thinking of getting a cocker puppy, but have one question, we cant afford to take 2 weeks off work at the mo to look after it and welcome it into our house due to work commitments, so the little fella would be left for approx 4 hours in the morning, then seen for an hour at dinner, then left for 2 hours in the afternoon then from 4 onwards we would be in all nights and weekends, my question is....is this unfair for a puppy, should we wait till we have at least 2 weeks hols avalaible to get him used to us and his surroundings, or by leaving him this much, is it cruel for the little chappie and should we not even be getting one, weve had a collie before and left him to go to work and he was fine, but obviouslt cockers are different and we just want to make sure we arent doing anythign cruel and that he has a good life etc

cheers rob

A puppy need lots of attention and training in the early days and it would not be fair to leave it for long periods...sorry

I my self would not entertain it..That is far to long in the day time.....Its Not fair on the new pupy ...No dowt it will be yapping away for hours upsetting it self and the naigbors and doing your puppy no good what so ever....

I would waite untill you have more time to devote to your new puppy.....
