Have never fed according to the bag recommendations. Have just used it as a very rough guide.  All my dogs have been so different in terms of energy levels, metabolism, etc. Also depends on the season and how much they are doing activity-wise. I tend to look at them daily and adjust quantities up or down depending on what's needed at the time.

I reduced Ellies amount of kibble
as she put some weight on and
also started weighing the amount
I was giving and what suprised
me was how much only a few
pieces of kibble weighed.
