Shadows
« on: October 01, 2012, 02:59:08 PM »
had a bit of a problem about 2 months back with shadows. This did stop but has come back again while we have been away on honeymoon. Its not a major problem at the moment but i don't want it to turn into 1 (never knew shadows could be an issue). We have tried play distraction which isnt working, were currently trying food for he's responded to 'no', its high value food. Are we doing the right thing? Also do you think its just a teen phase thing? He's trying to jump on them not barking or trying to bite them. only a problem when he's in house or garden, seems to ignore them on walks.

any advice would be appreciated to try curb it now.

very good chance that it is the teen thing, most dogs go through this stage and are scared of the weidest things. Our old dog Henry had a thing about things on beds growling and snarling at any thing left on a bed, one day he came in why I was changing a lampshade and I had left the new one on the bed you would have thought it was a T rex the way he behaved.

Just carry on doing what you are doing the odd treat and dont make a big thing about it, he will grow out of it in a few months.

thanks, very reassuring, i would hate to think hes going to have this a permanent problem as he's turning into a very well rounded dog. never faced this problem before.
