It's like having an echo...
« on: June 12, 2013, 11:19:58 AM »
As you all know, I have three lovely cockers.....Gracie, almost one year old, being the youngest.

I have noticed that if ever I have to chastise her, or raise my voice in the slightest......Luis coming running up and begins to bark at her too.  It is funny, but not funny IYSWIM.

Does anyone else have this?  Is it because he is pack leader, and feels he should be the one doing the 'telling off'?

He also does it if she gets too 'cocky' with unfamiliar dogs.

Aww that is so cute (from my point of view) lol,
Maybe he feels he is the daddy and is indeed telling her off, or he is trying to get in your good books  :luv:

I was thinking that Jane.  He only ever does it to her if she is getting out of her depth with other dogs, or if I am having to do a stern 'recall' cause she's gone deaf on me.  :005:

Mmmm.  Possibility Mel.  He certainly gets in front of her if there's a dog situation.

It's great hearing that this is the 'norm' with multiple dogs.

I was beginning to wonder whether I was upsetting Luis, taking over his job as leader of his dog pack.  :005:

It's almost as if he's saying.....'back off Mum, I'll deal with this.'  :005:

Lottie does it to Lola, especially if I am brushing her and she squeals.  :016:

Lottie seems to be saying to Lola "sit still and get brushed"  :005: :005:

We have the same reaction from Jasper when we tell the cat off. He runs in to be with us as though he wants to make sure Toby does as he is told.  Quite funny to watch.
