She aint gonna like it

Teal is going into kennels tomorrow for 5 days as we are going to a wedding in Italy, to be honest I am dreading it. I know she will be OK but we have never left her before.

I feel your pain. My two are off to kennels a week on Saturday for 10 days. It will be Millies first time too.

My advice is to say your goodbyes before you drop Teal off. Then when they lead her off to the kennels, just walk away and don't look back. If you look back and she is giving you 'the look' you might never leave her.

She'll be fine, but I know exactly how you feel! Enjoy the wedding and look forward to a very long wriggly  welcome when you get back!!  ;)

Henry was in kennels for two weeks in August. I thought my OH was going to break my hand, he was holding it so tight as we walked away. Henry come bouncing back, bathed and brushed, bright-eyed and bustling, as if he'd never been gone. Fell straight back into his usual routine. He's going back in for a long weekend while we take our daughter up to Uni, and I'm confident he'll be fine. As will Teal. xxx

Haven't had to put either of our two in kennels yet as our daughter looks after them if we're away. We know they'll be well looked after but  just can't help feeling a bit anxious until we get home and have a proper cocker welcome  :luv:

I'm sure everything will be fine with Teal but I can appreciate your feelings and I'd probably be exactly the same.

Bob.

Well Teal is back home, she came out with a mild touch of kennel cough and we are treating with honey for now but will go to the vets if no improvement in a couple of days. She is scratching a bit as well so looks like its time for flea treatment all around. She is fine in herself and did not seem to mind her prison stay to much.  I think I missed her more than she missed me.
