Struvite Stones

Maisie had surgery for Struvite Stones last Wednesday.  It was quite an invasive operation and I am pleased to say she is now recovering well.  She now needs to go on a special diet and having researched a lot I can't say I am happy about the nutritional content of the specialist food.  I have read some of the previous posts on COL regarding Struvite Stones and note that some members have given their dogs Cranberry tablets or powder.  Could anyone provide information on the specific product they have used as it seems to be a minefield when you look online.  I'm assuming human grade cranberry tablets would not be suitable for dogs.  Any advice regarding Struvite Stones would be greatly appreciated.  Many thanks.

Two of my Scottie?s had bladder struvites , both had ops, couldn't believe the amount of stones that came out, a bowlful! They were both put on Hills, can't remember which one (it was more than twenty five years ago). There wasn't anything else suggested in the way of cranberry. They both eventually died of kidney disease, which I wonder if it was related.
I wonder if Dorward Herbs would have cranberry for dogs, they do lots of other things for dogs.

Thanks for your replies. Maisie is doing well now following her surgery.  She started on her special diet yesterday and fortunately she seems to be happy to eat the new food so far.  I am giving her half a 400mg Holland & Barret cranberry tablet each day as I could not find any cranberry tablets or powder for suitable for dogs after hours of online searching.  The new food seems to be encouraging her to drink a little more so that is good.  I am desperate to avoid any further recurrence of the Struvite stones. Maisie had a lot of stones, a small bag full, some of which were large like small pebbles.  Horrifying.  Bless her.

Our old dog Morgan had bladder stones when he was only young. After that I noticed that there were several foods/supplements for dogs which contained cranberry and our breeder advised that she used cranberry if one of her girls had bladder/cystitis problems. Since then we have used cranberry tablets from Amazon for both the late Morgan and Hugo who will be 12 at Christmas. Hugo has one tablet a day and has never had any bladder problems although he's not a great drinker so we always add water to his food.

We found Dorwest herbs really good for this they recommended green relief tablets. Poppy never had any more stones after surgery about 10 years ago x
