Off to get soaked
« on: September 20, 2006, 01:13:42 PM »
Well Jock back from vets and I'm feeling so guilty that I didn't get Fern walked yet to day  :embarassed:  and it's as balck as ink out there and the heavens have just opened.

So I'm just going to get Jock comfy and take Fern for a long walk.

Drowned rat look here we come :005:

I love going out in the rain as long as I'm properly dressed  :005:  Enjoy your walk and have a lovely hot drink when you get back home to keep any nasties away  ;)

Well we are back and I loved it once we were out ;) It's just the initial thought.

Fern ran in and got her towel so she was given a rub down before I had chance to get my coat off, she wouldn't leave me alone till she had had her rub down >:(
I have just had a quick shower and am curled up all cosy, Fern at my feet and Jock on the settee. (anesetic (sp) still wearing off I think) Just hope he forgives me soon as OH is away tonight

I think that's such a great feeling after you've been out for a walk in the rain to curl up all cosy and warm with a contented dog at your feet.  I also used to love getting my stable ready after going out riding on a dark rainy day and then putting my horse to bed.  I used to sit for ages just listening to him munch on his hay before going home for a cosy night in before doing it all again the next day :D

Two things wrong with this thread  ;)

Ben has never got his towel and asked to be dried first

Ben has never been contented while having wet fur - wall of death yes but contented no

Maybe one day ..............................................  :luv:

Fern runs to get her towel before I even get chance to get my coat and wellies off :005: Think she learnt this off Jock ::)

She jumps with her towel in her mouth and gives you no peace until she has had a rub down

Still raining buckets here and just been out again, only trouble is when you have two dogs that jump with their towel which do you dry first?

Jock has forgiven me for the vets and agreed to come out in the garden in the rain,  but wanted more attention than normal :luv:

Hey my dogs are macho - Towels?????? what's that, we drip dry in our house, all over the floor usually :005:

And as for contented I think knackered is a more appropriate description :005:

I started drying Jock when we got him at 8 months old in the winter (rain and snow ) as he then came upstairs to lie by the open fire and ever since then he wants to be towel dried to be allowed upstairs to the open fire, think fern thought it was the norm ;) (Our lounge is upstairs and Jock still likes to lie in front of it, but now he has to compete for the space with Fern) ;)
