Peeing/drinking - now yeast infection in his ear!

Hi guys,

Need some help please.....

Bailey is 1 & 1/2, usually spot on with his toilet training only accidents are our fault if we don't read the signs!!! Anyway.....

He is the laziest dog i have ever met would rather sleep than walk!
The last few days he has been sleeping a bit more than normal though still as playful when awake.
He hasn't been drinking an awful lot - several people have noticed this.
Last night after being out for 1/2 hour we got in, lead came off - he peed an absolutely huge river while my back was turned then lay in the corner behind me while i was cleaning it.
Was out about 11:30 for 40 mins - as usual spark out when he came in - still no drink.
We got up this morning and again he peed an absolute river this time in the living room - as if he couldn't stop himself

We've got an app with the vet tomorrow - its shut on Thurs afternoon.

Please anyone any advice - I'm sooo worried?
Also, this may sound daft, i have 2 of Claire's bowls - his water bowl was smashed so he's now drinking  out a wee stainless steel bowl i got with Arden grange til his new one comes. Do you think he dislikes the bowl and this is why he isn't drinking?

if hes not drinking enough he may be dehydrated causing the lathargic ness (sorry)  is he eating ok? does seem strange of his age that he cant control himself and hes very lazy? im assuming youve had no toilet training problems with him before now?

well, he has cystitis! had to have 2 injections and he was as good as gold. had a slightly smelly ear for which i have been using thornits - turns out it a yeast infection!! and advice on the ear or what i should be using is welcome!!

Glad to hear the vet got to the bottom of it. I have always used thornits and never had a problem with ears. How frequently are you using it and how much?

I'm pleased the vet has given you a diagnosis - did he not give advice on the ear infection? 

I am currently worrying about Fern's ear - one has a big clump of wax but they both now smell a bit what I think could be yeasty although I've absolutely no idea what that would smell of!!  We are using an ear cleaner to try and clear the wax and were going to see how things were after that.

If you get some advice on Bailey's ear it might help us too!  Hope he gets better soon

We took Bracken to the vets on Monday as he has a little yeast infection and some itchy scabby patches on her legs. The vet thinks it's likely to be a food allergy but it's very mild so he recommended giving her some fish oils to help improve her coat condition generally. It's up to us if we want to try and work out what she is allergic too, he suggested trying a different food, like pork and potato or something like that rather than chicken and rice based...

But seeing as she just came downstairs with a dolly mixture that aaron had left on the side, we will need to be very strict to be able to work it out....

i use thornits about once a month. vet never gave any advice whatsoever just said 'at one point every spaniel will develop an ear infection and need antibiotics no matter what' when i asked him what to do about the yeast he shrugged his shoulders!! So we are now registering with a new vet.

I've searched on here and found a lot of info so i cleaned his ears out with cotton wool and olive oil and i'm going to put thornits in for five days in a row - started yesterday.

Does this sound ok?

when i asked him what to do about the yeast he shrugged his shoulders!!

I can do that!  I think I will be a vet
