Coat change for the worse
« on: May 16, 2008, 10:36:42 AM »
Hi, is it normal for a bitch's coat to become dry and brittle during a season, if so, is there anything I can do about it i.e. supplements.  If it's not down to being in season, think I may have to change her diet.

some bitch's coats can and do go dull during a season, and some loose coat ( i'm assuming this is what you mean by brittle, coat should'nt be breaking as such) during a season, but some can loose coat,( if that makes sence). it will pick up after season has finished, but can take time.
i'm not a great believer in supplimenting , as  complete dogs food should have everything a dog needs in it, as for the food, what food suits one dog, does'nt mean it suits all dogs.

Must have been dead puppy coat as I've pulled it all from her as was coming out easy and she looks fine.
