Help - Piriton equvialent tablets (Dog been stung)
« on: July 14, 2008, 10:14:17 AM »
Dogs been out and Braan's eye is swelling so he's been stung - can't use Bicarb or vinegar as have no idea what it was that has stung him

No piriton tabs in house (left kids here and rushed to chemist, made sure I got non drowsy ) have given him 1/2 a tablet is that right  :-\

I'm sure that is what Fern had just over a year ago but as I didn't give it to her and the person that did is not available for me to ask at the mo - I need HELP PLEASE

1/2 a tab should be fine - I use the liquid on Jarv and give him a tsp  ph34r

Naturally Braan shouldn't operate heavy machinery or drive a car this morning  ;)

I bought the non drowsey but he is crashed on the settee  :005: don't think he'll be doing much for a bit and the rest should help the tablet work  ;)

Thanks Helen for reply here and to my panicked PM  :shades:

I have to give Norms a whole tablet, so I should think half will be fine for Braan - hope he gets better soon  :luv: :luv:

I give strider half a tab so that should be fine for Braan.
Hope he's feeling better soon. :luv:

It seems to have stopped swelling and hopefully it is starting to go down now

But this boy had the  >:D in him today  :-\ hopefully it's put him off chasing the bees and wasps - but somehow I doubt it  :shades:

His eye has totally gone down now  :D and he is full of mischief  :005:

I just couldn't believe I kept meaning to get some and never did (I got the non drowsey equivalent  ;) didn't want to get actual piriton as it is drowsey) Definately something to keep in the dog first aid box - especially for you who live in the back of beyond  :005:  ;)

Glad to here that Braan is all mended....not sure if this will help but Sasha, Jessica and Otis have to have piriton everyday this time of year due to allergies....Sasha has 1 am and 2 pm (she's 19kg) and the other two have 1 twice daily each (they're 13 and 14kg) these are the 4mg standard piriton.....According to my skin specialist you can't overdose with piriton the worse it will do is make them drowsy ph34r Personally I've never tested this theory and don't plan to either......Tho must admit there are many times i wish they would make Sasha calm down  ;) :D
