Protecting coat when on hols: advice on oil please

I am going on holiday for a week and am thinking of putting Dax's coat in oil to avoid coming back to a tangled mess - can you recommend any oil or something else which I can use to protect his coat as OH isn't used to grooming - can't find a thread on the subject
