Recommendations???
« on: January 04, 2009, 01:54:06 PM »
Charlie is coming up for one and on the advice of the vet (he is a bit porky) I have put him on adult NatureDiet and he has been for a couple of months.  He was on the puppy one and I was mixing it with Arden Grange puppy dried food.  I still am mixing the adult stuff with that because has loads left.  Now coming to an end so can anyone recommend a good dry mixer to go with the wet food.  Also when should I think about going onto one meal a day (he is still on two) and if so what time????

thanks in advance xx

Both of mine are still on 2 meals a day...Biba is just over 2 and Lola is 15 months ..they will always stay on 2 meals as i think 24 hours is a long time to wait between feeds  ;)...what about AG adult food seeing as he is on the puppy one now although it isn't a mixer but a complete dry food so you would have to take the wet food into consideration when looking at the daily quantities of the dry  ;)
Burns...James wellbeloved and Orijen are all good quality dry foods but again aren't a mixer but complete foods  ;)

Our dogs are on NatureDiet & AG together; although they are both a 'complete' food & designed to be fed on their own I've always mixed dry & wet complete foods together with no untoward results; I am quite careful about the quantities I feed though........we don't like to see fat dogs!! ;)

Most people i know, and myself, all feed ours twice a day.  I think 24 hours is too long to go without food, crumbs i can only manage 4-5 hours myself! ;)

Mine are fed Arden Grange Adult, and it may suit you to carry on with this brand but switch to the Adult versions.  I do think it is a really good quality complete dog food and all my 3 absolutely love it.  There is a very good offer with a company called Feedem.co.uk and at the moment the Lamb & Rice version is £23.49 with free delivery.

I feed Dex on Naturediet too, although it is a complete food I like to give him some gravy bones and bonio's for something to crunch on.  I will feed him twice a day when he's older, I think it's kinder on their system's.

Katie has NatureDiet puppy and wholemeal terrier biscuit (bit bigger than the puppymeal which is more like  crumbs)

She is fed 3 times a day at eight months, will cut her down hopefully to 2, but she still seems to enjoy the 3 meals and she gets the same daily allowance but split into 3 instead of 2
