Goodbye to my little monster- Jet 1/8/2005-30/3/2009

Jetty I know I rushed into taking you after losing my Barney to epilepsy last year. It seemed it was meant to be. Barney had just turned 4 when he died-you were just about to turn 3. You were both black Cockers and your owners were moving away without you.
What a shock to the system you were! You had little, if any training. You were not properly house-trained, you had no recall whatsoever, you chewed anything that didn't get out of your way and you were constantly looking for food to steal. You stole clothes constantly and snapped at anyone but me who tried to take things from you. I was trying to cope with my grief over losing Barney, deal with an absolute monster and battling with everyone but my daughter to convince them that you were worth the effort. We only had you a few short months Jet and you were certainly no angel but you had really come on learned so much in your short time with us. You were still a thief and a chewer but you were my little star at obedience classes.
You were full of the joy of living. Your little tail was constantly wagging even if your front was growling because someone wanted their sock back.
You were also such a loving boy. I was always getting cuddles and licks.
I am so sorry I took my eyes of you that day in the fields. I thought you had gone to visit the old farm dog when you disappeared. I never for a moment thought you had turned and gone instead in the direction of the road.
The woman who hit you tells me you didn't know anything. You ran out and were killed instantly. Two men lifted your body of the road, covered you with a blanket then rang me and brought your broken body home.
I am sorry your time with us was so short. We miss your craziness and naughtiness, I loved you very much Jetty-run free now with Barney. I feel both of you near me when I am in the fields with Ali and Milly. I imagine I see the two of you sniffing in the bushes hoping you might find something edible. All my love xx
