Red boil
« on: June 09, 2009, 02:50:48 PM »
I wondered if any one can shed any light or experienced this before....

Last weekend I discovered a red boil on her nose about 6 cms from her eye (so on the bridge of the nose - hope that makes sense)

I have been bathing it for a week with salt water and putting on sudacream. At first I thought it was a tick or a foreign body. No puncture hole but after cutting the hair away it appears not, just red. it doesn't look as raised but it is still there.

She absolutely hates the vets and I would rather this was my last resort, so any reccommendations gratefully received.

Hallo,

For (human) use in case of boils there is a old home remedy salve called "black ointment" or "drawing salve". I've used it on myself  for very large pimples  :P and it worked a treat without side-effects. However,  I would be very wary putting anything close to her eyes, you wouldn't want to do any damage there! Also it smells really awful of tar.
Hope you get some more advice and you don't need the vets!

If you don't want to take her to the vets maybe you could just phone them and ask for their advice? Hopefully it's just a boil or something and it will go away soon but it's worth checking with them just in case xxxx
