electronic flea comb ??

I've just seen an advert for a flea comb that provides a 'harmless voltage' that kills fleas and ticks.
Has anyone seen or used something like this.  It says a LED light shows if fleas are present and then you use the voltage to kill the fleas 'instantly' 

I've got a real problem with Harry, and have tried garlic in his food, rinses made with Tea tree/rosemary/lavender you name it  but can't seem to get rid of the blighters.  I don't want to resort to using chemicals at all and if this works then fantastic.

However I can almost hear my mum 'saying if it seems to good to be true - it probably is....' 
I don't want to part with money and find its rubbish or worse still does any damage to Harry or Ben so would like to know if anyone has used one

i know they do them for humans for head lice not sure if they are the same or if they work

yup it says you can use it for nits or head lice as well

I had one for the kids, yes they do work but for some reason my youngest every so often would get a shock from it. May be it was because he has very fine hair. He won't let me come near him now

Yes they work, and they look the same as the human ones (have both). But your dog needs to be dry and knot free to get the comb through fur or it'll bleep on every snag. Shocks are tiny and generally dog doesn't bother.

It may kill the adult flea/tick, but what about the eggs?

I have one, it does work, but like Bluegirl says your dog has to be dry, mine makes a humming noise and when it hits a flea it stops and the flea is dead, stuck to the teeth of the comb.  Sometimes it just seems to stun the flea, so i put the flea in water. I used to do Millie after every walk.
