Harringtons v's Burns
« on: March 21, 2010, 07:53:33 PM »
Humble pie - i always thought henry was a bit of a fussy eater when it came to kibble. Arden Grange, Hills, Purina - not really that fussed about eating any of them would never eat it as soon as i put it down, unlike 'real' food.

Then i got a couple of different Burns and Harringtons samples at Crufts. And also NatureDiet. With NatureDiet i thought he was going to eat the bowl as well! but the smell going in, coming out and on his ears was unfavourable! So sticking with using that as a kong stuffing.

The Burns (lamb & rice, chicken & rice and pork & potato but not so much the fish & rice) went down incredibly well - as soon as the food bowl hit the floor he was eating. Same with the Harringtons.

There's a bit of a price difference. And I know that Harringtons is following the same sort of 'natural' thing Burns is. Is Burns really better and that's why it costs more?

Any thoughts? Thanks :-)

Indie's never really liked any dried food except Burns which she had when she was a puppy, however she lost weight on it and as she was small and was supposed to be putting on weight, I took her off it and went onto a different brand which again she wasn't impressed with.

Shes now back on Burns this week and she gobbles it down and will just have to monitor her weight on it - seeing as she needs to lose 1.5 kg - it will probably do her good  :shades:

I've never tried Harringtons so can't compare.

Ummm, I haven't really helped have I.

I had Roxy on Harringtons for ages as it was much cheaper.  I found it to be just as good as the JWB I had been feeding although the lamb variety made her poo a bit hard! However the kibble then went a funny red colour, I tried about 3 bags in case it was a random bag but it stayed red. I was a bit suspicious as to what they had done to it or were putting in it so I have switched back to JWB!
