Distended Tummy

Heidi has been a little poorly in the last few days,   we visited the vet last friday with a distended tummy,  the vet diagnosed gastroenteritis, (strangely without any diarrhoea or vomiting)   although she is a little better I think her  main trouble and discomfort is from the gas/air build up in her tum

she has been having pro kolin since she started with the problem and after a starvation period is now on a little and often diet

Cleverly heidi I think has realised that if she lies fairly still she does not feel the pangs from the air moving around ,  to overcome this we are encouraging her to take some very gentle exercise to keep it moving and hopefully release

With careful monitoring I currently have no reason to doubt the vets diagnosis but wondered if anyone had any ideas (other than above mentioned) how to move this gas from her tum and relieve her discomfort

I know Antepsin is widely prescribed but not sure if that is what she needs as she is not vomiting etc so the lining to tummy should not be too bad  -   what do you think ?

Personally I would be wanting a vet's advice ASAP. When Jeff swallowed his kebab stick one of his symptoms was a distended belly (before we knew what the cause was) and the vet rushed us in just in case is was bloat, which is very serious and must be treated immediately; see here fopr symptoms:   http://www.iams.co.uk/dog/Caring-for-your-Dog-5/Recognising-Signs-Bloat-143.html

I'm sure it's not nearly so serious, but if in any doubt I would get it seen to now.

Bloat was what came into my mind.
I'd get a second opinion if it were me (cause I'm a worrier)

Thank you,  yes bloat was the very first thing that was investigated,   as I say I am not overly concerned at this stage as all her vital signs are good,    the gas is somewhat reduced to what it was last week so there is some improvement
