Pooping ing the house when left alone- Advise needed please.
« on: August 24, 2010, 10:06:38 PM »
Just had a couple of weeks out of our usual routine and now I am back at work the dogs are back in their usual routine but Kooki has been poo'd in the house the last 2 days and although she is alright in herself I am a little concerned as this is something she hasnt done since the first week we had her home.  Has anyone got any tips or advice on how to stop this behaviour or any suggestions on how I can make her feel more settled to prevent it happening again.

Third day in a row now she has pooped in the house before the dog walker has been at 11.30am.  She really does seem fine in herself so I have no idea what I can do to stop this behaviour- it is so out of character for Wookie woo that I getting rathe rconcerned by it.

Any advise/help gratefully received.

Lisa

Does she get the chance to go out for a while first thing after waking up? If not thats quite a while for her to hold it.

What is the morning routine?
Has anything changed since you were last at work?
Is she otherwise ok?  - Does she seem stressed when you leave, or when the dog walker arrives?

In the absence of anything being obviously different, and especially if the rest of her behaviour is as normal, I think my first step would be a check at the vets, just to make sure she's not unwell...
Then I guess play with meal times and see if that helps?

Our usual routine is that the OH gets up at 5.30 and lets the dogs out and then they potter around until I take them out for an hour at 6.15, they get their breakfast when we get back and I leave for work about 7.45. the dog walker comes in after 11 and this is the same routine we have had since she arrived.  She is grand in herself, if a little clingy.  There has been nothing for 2 days now and I think it was her way of letting me know she was unhappy with going back to our usual routine after being together 24/7 on our hols.

Hopefully everything will be ok now but she can be such a wee madam when the mood takes her lol

Am soooooooooooo glad the 'dirty' protest seems to be over.  All is well in the LH household again and both pooches are currently snoozing on the sofa.  Tis wonderful when they are CLEAN and quiet lol
