I am sooooooo glad that Diesel is not the only one that has hyper hour  :005:
I have the same problem - Most of the time he is the cutest most well be haved loving little cocker then for 1 hour a day he is such a terror. He wants to play but want to grab any part of me he can - he will bite onto my clothes and bite my hands etc - not sore but sometimes if he gets over excited he can be a little sore. I can end up with bruises sometimes. Apparently im quite tasty as NOTHING will distract him from chewing me. Im not 100% sure how to stop him - i have tried yelping and turning away then he just tugs at my clothes from behind, i have tried Barking and he just looks at me and starts up again, i have tried to get his attention onto a toy or a treat but playing with me is more fun. So i lift him up (usually attatched to my clothes of hand and give him time out in his bed as he just wont stop. Although one this passes he is great !
Diesel is terrible on a normal lead and spends the whole walk panting and pulling and being a tantrum terror, however on the extendable lead he is a gem and will wait on me and does what he is told so i tend to stick to the extendable .
My Mummy's name is Charlene
My name is Diesel

yep we had all this with Louis but the time out worked wonders, we still have to use it now (he is nearly 7 months)  as he still gets overtired.  The only thing is he weighs in at 14kg, so it is a bit more fiesty getting him in the kitchen  ;)

:lol2: :lol2: This will pass soon, well the puppy biting maybe not the hyper.  :lol2:

Cockers need of the lead as much as possible, so maybe with clicker training you can get a good reliable recall in an open space.  In a safe environment of course.

If you want, PM me and I will send to your Pop's address the Victoria Stilwell book- it's Me or the Dog. Many COL members have differing views on training but you will be able to extract what you want from the book.

So reassured to read this thread.  Pebbles has been quietely driving me to distraction this past week.  It is definetely when she is overtired.  Sharkey moment coming on we say  >:(  She just won't leave me alone and just wants to jump all over me - including face and hair - with biting.  Tried all the usual ouches, turning away, standing up and ignoring her and she just attaches herself to clothing and then barks or whines with such a pitiful look on her face.  I end up putting her out of the room and back in if she's quiet for a couple of minutes.  Then the whole process starts again.  It is so tiring.  She is 19 weeks tomorrow.  No sign of puppy teeth coming out yet.

Never had a puppy, always an adult dog before and really didn't appreciate what hard work it was.  Don't get me wrong she is adorable and wouldn't be without her for a second but sometimes I could scream    >:D

Sara-Clara.   Sounds just like my life.  Isn't it mad with the face and hair thing, Misty loves to try and climb up me to reach my face and pull hair.  >:(  And you're right it's very tiring.  :005:  Sometimes we have good day though, makes it all worthwhile.  :005:  I too have either had older dogs or an older dog and a pup and an older dog seems to take on some of the puppy management.
