Floor spray
« on: September 08, 2011, 12:35:27 PM »
Can anyone recommend a spray to clean my kitchen floor? If Alfie has an accident I am cleaning it up with antibacterial spray and he still keeps going back to the same spot. I have tried vinegar as well. Any other ideas?

Hi

Vinegar and anti bac cleaner don't kill the smell so dogs will keep fouling that area.  Pets at Home sell a brand called Simple Solution which is an odour/stain remover.  I can't tell you how fantastic it is.  There is one for carpets and soft furnishings and a spray for hard floors.  All you do is get rid of the excess urine, then spray and leave the solution for a few minutes then wipe dry.  It completely gets rid of odour and leaves a lovely fresh smell.  It's a miracle in a bottle for me.  Good luck.

I purchased a spray that stops dogs from re fouling an area as it eliminates all the smell. It has a very pleasant odour and I have been spraying it over my entire kitchen floor as a cleaning agent and Dexter no longer has accidents.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. You just need biological washing liquid, mixed into a bucket of water. x

ive tried that and it made no difference in my house ive also tried soda crystals too , though i have had alot of problems this year with two terminally ill dogs and a pup last year and another puppy last month so the kitchen tiles have taken a bit of a battering and the landing carpet will have to go in a few weeks time  ph34r ph34r , i thought the simple solution worth a go myself

I promise you won't be disappointed with Simple Solution.  Just blot up excess wee with paper towel, soak area in solution, then wipe dry (unless carpet then just leave it but make sure you tip plenty onto the wee patch).  It kills all smell so dog shouldn't refoul in that area and leaves a lovely fresh scent.  I love it!!
