Thank you so much.....going to give those suggestions a try.

We have talked to them...but I am not sure they understand us.

They have now taken to sitting in the hall and making loud howling sounds when they hear anyone in the cul de sac.  It is so heartbreaking.   Xx

Oh, and another therapy worth trying if you have the opportunity, might be TTouch. It can help in these situations too.

Oh bless them, it must be so upsetting to see them so upset.

I don't have any advice, I just wanted to wish you all the best. I hope some of the advice already offered goes some way to help.

Gentle hugs for you all

xx

I'm so sorry to read this, but yes,  when we lost Shelley our other cocker almost one year ago after a short but very distressing illness, our remaining girl Saffy was inconsolable.  She wandered around the house constantly and aimlessly, slept in strange places and even tried to scratch up the courtyard where Shelley used to sit. :'(  After a couple of weeks she took to sitting in the hall and howling.........we did explain to her that Shelley had gone and would not now be in any more pain.  We know that Saffy understands these things and slowly she began to come round and coped reasonably well; but she seemed to age years in a matter of weeks.  We got Dillon our cavie puppy a few weeks later and that did distract her and keeps her busy.  It is such an awful time and my thoughts are with you xxx
