Coop seems to be about the same this morning. I think I was hoping for a miraculous, rapid improvement. I suppose I'm worried because the thought of a disc keeps lurking in the back of my mind. If it was a disc, surely he would be in more pain and possibly be showing neuro signs?

I hope that he shows signs of improvement this morning, or later today, I suppose depending on how irritated the area was there may still be a reluctance to move about too vigorously.

Stop panicking (easier said than done I know  ;) ) and just keep an eye of him  :luv: sounds to me that the vet has given him a good going over and I pray that you are wrong and the vet is right  :luv: :bigarmhug: remember he may still be sore after the glands being so full and the vet visit  ;)

Loads of love and hugs and good luck for Friday  :luv:

Thanks :) I am a terrible worry wart with him! I really think that its a case of a little knowledge being dangerous with me, I imagine all the awful possibilities :) I must learn to be patient and not expect everything to be fixed in the blink of an eye:) Time to start on today's cramming session :)

Lyla was the same when her glands were bad. So much so that when she did blow her disc, my first thought was that it was her glands again!

Thanks so much everyone :) One exam down, seven to go! It didn't go wonderfully but I think I got throught it :) Next one's on tuesday (vet public health). I think there is a slight improvement in Coop today, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm not imagining it :)

@Sheryl, I feel so relieved to hear that anal glands can look like a disc problem :) I have this niggly feeling about a disc but he has no trouble reaching to lick his bum and is happy to roll around on his back in his bed and on the carpet like a fish. I'm sure if his back was sore he wouldn't be so keen to wiggle and wag? He just seems uncomfy if he wants to climb on something (which he has been forbidden to do by his neurotic mum just in case) :)

Well, I took Coop back to varsity this afternoon after my exam to have his anal glands checked again as they are still bothering him quite a bit. He's jumping and running around like normal but he his nether regions are driving him mad.

The one anal gland was very full again and when expressed there was quite a lot of blood. It looks like there is an abscess brewing in there :( They've added another antibiotic to the one he was on to sort out any infection and I now have the dubious honour of having to express them daily for the next 5 days :( I really hope the antibiotics sort this out for him.

Needless to say he charmed the pants off everyone again. He wanted to carry his own medicine packet out and ended up getting his own paper bag just to shut him up. There he was, sitting bolt upright with his bag in his mouth while I was sorting stuff out :) He's such a clown, I don't know what I'd do without him and his crazy antics.

poor boy....my ebony had a problem with her anal glands just over a year ago, she was doing the usual scooting of the bottom, and wouldnt jump up, she also stunk of fish  :020:..I took her to the V E T and when they expressed them there was alot of blood, i felt awful that i hadnt noticed sooner, anyway after a week of antibiotics and painkillers, she was fine and hasnt had a problem since thank goodness... ;)

i hope cooper recovers just as quickly xxx

I'm also very relieved that it seems to be his anal glands rather than a spinal issue :) He's been very bright and chirpy today so hopefully we are winning!

Thanks Ebony girl, that sounds very much like Coops issue :) Hope the antibiotics work as well for him as they did for your baby.
