Laparoscopic Spay
« on: September 24, 2012, 08:28:24 PM »
I have just had Teva spayed by the above method and thought it might be interesting for members to see the results, maybe if it was something they were considering for their girls!

3 little stitches, looking a bit pink as I had just removed the sticky dressings. I took this today, she had her spay done on Thursday.

A bit more financially than a traditional spay, but comparing this to Lillie who had a traditional spay done, I was  really pleased with her short recovery time - great for a very lively girlie  :luv:

Willow had a laparoscopy a couple of weeks ago.  She had no stitches and I can barely see it.  Back to normal after anesthetic wore off, so I was delighted.  My vets have a £50 off voucher for it, so I am really glad I opted for this. Glad Teva was fine too

I wish we'd had this option. Glad to hear she is doing so well.

Awww look at that pink tum  :shades: :luv:
Bless her, i'm so pleased it worked out well for Teva  :shades: :luv: & the recovery is so quick with this method  :shades:

I never took pics of Georgia's black tum or Nina's (rather large  :005:) pink tum  >:( :005:  from memory they look exactly the same & the wounds heal so quickly too  :shades:

The only drawback is the cost  :shades:  Our usual vet's thought they might lower the costs eventually if more & more people go via this route  :-\

For me it was £70 more to do it this way.  I have been saving up since April, but had no choice as Willow came into season again and it was only 4 and half months since her last one.   Laparoscopys can be done when the bitch in in season too.  As I said, my vets have a £50 off voucher.  Worth checking if your vet does this too.

Hi Caz ....it's me     :lol2:

I have a few questions in ref to this OP & me asking them 'might' open a *debate/discussion & wondered if that's OK?   :-*

(I'm still quite ignorant of information regarding this OP & asking question might help others who have the same lack of knowledge - a *healthy discussion might be educational & informative IYSWIM  ;) )

Gentle get well hugs for Teva from all of us & hope her recovery continues to go so well  :bigarmhug:  :luv: :bigarmhug:
