anal glands
« on: February 25, 2013, 07:52:11 PM »
Cosmo has been scooting on his bottom after he has been out to the toilet and he keeps sitting down so I think Maybe he needs his anal glands emptying. Does anyone have any idea how much it is likely to cost if a vet empties them? He has home cooked food, would adding more fibre to his diet help? He is allergic to grains so can anyone suggest an alternative please?

Poor Cosmo  :'( have you tried adding raw bone to his diet?
My vet nurses carry this out and it costs about £5. Charlie used to do this loads, but since he no longer has wheat in his diet he has stopped, could Cosmo have eaten something containing wheat??
How is he otherwise? Hope his fly biting has stopped.

Hi bones like chicken wings, not sure if bone meal works? Bone firms up the poo, which in turn empties the glands  :020:
Charlie is much better  :luv: still chases the odd invisible fly, but not as much as he was.
