First overnighter with no accidents- Yay!!
« on: March 09, 2013, 07:29:21 AM »
I can't tell you how chuffed I am about this! :)

Daisy (16 weeks) always asks to go out during the day, and gets a special treat when she has been in the garden, so that has worked well..

We were struggling to crate Daisy overnight (because she becomes too distressed), so she sleeps in her crate with the door open. She did whine to go out, but I never got downstairs in time- and she had gone anyway (but at least she asked!)..

Anyhow- this morning I got up (a little bit earlier than ususal, it had to be said) and no accidents at all- straight into the garden, and all was well...

I am so chuffed...now I know I just need to get up that little bit earlier, and the final stage will be achievable...I was beginning to wonder whether I had made a mistake with my tactics, but hopefully not!

She also "asks" to do her click and treat training every morning too...sits by the pot where I keep the clicker on the side, and gets very excited when we start..

Getting there....!! :)

That's great. Mack is ok overnight but during the day we still have to spot the signs. What is hard is when he performs outside so you relax but he has a wee inside just 15 minutes later. He is clicked and rewarded outside and if he wees inside we say no and take him outside. He is only 12 weeks so still early days :-/
