Blowing puppy coat
« on: October 27, 2013, 03:03:33 PM »
There is golden fluff EVERYWHERE in my house at the moment, so I can only assume that 9 month old Lottie's puppy coat is blowing, even after she had a humongous amount stripped out by her breeder last month.

I have a very quick question - can it irritate them? I am brushing her daily and using the elastic band on a comb trick, as I was noticing how flamin' quickly it can matt up at the moment, but she is a bit more scratchy at the moment.  Skin looks good, she is frontlined and I have had a close inspection for fleas, and I can see why shedding loads of fluff could be a bit itchy for them, but wanted to see what others experience eas.

And how long does it normally take? I am very thankful for my Miele Cat & Dog at the moment!  Am also waiting for my 20 blade coat king to arrive :)

She still gets the odd knot in the usual places - for her, her nemesis is her armpits.  But the itchiness has much subsided - my carpets still look dreadfully fluffy at times, but her breeder did say on my last visit a month ago (so 13 months old) that she hadn't lost all of her puppy fluff just yet.
