Clipping in stages....
« on: January 29, 2014, 02:22:31 PM »
Does anyone do this and clip a bit at a time?  Ruby is not too happy on the grooming table  ;)  Her last "full" clip was in the first week of December.  She's had a bit of a tidy up today, but is nowhere near finished and was beginning to get a bit "grumpy"  so I'm thinking of finishing her off at the weekend with the help of OH  :dunno:

This is what I have clipped off so far today  :lol2:

Oh that really made me laugh.  Yes I clip Jazz in two stages, it is a long process even though he is quite compliant, and we both get a little fed up and tired after an hour or so.  I normally clip his body and trim his feet in one session and then complete the job the next time, sometimes the following weekend.  My "grooming room" is our shed and its rather chilly in there at this time of year.  Another reason to do it in two stages.  Seems to work better for both of us.

Blue gets really fed up as he's got older so I do all his clipping and grooming in short sessions  :005: May do his ears and paws one day, clip his back and front another and this carries on until he's done  :D

Then it's usually time to start at the first bit again, and so it goes on  :005:

My grooming room is outside as well, and it's too cold to stay out there for long in this weather so it's a good excuse for having a half trimmed cocker most of the time  :lol2:

The problem is that her coat is really, really dense (I'm beginning to think that she is a cocker crossed with a sheep  :005:)  I have the Andis clippers with 3 different blades  ;) I have just ordered 3 more blades to the tune of £90  :o  (express delivery) so will have another go at the weekend  :shades: As we are surrounded by sheep farms.......it might just be easier to take her up the road when they are shearing the sheep  :lol2:

I do this sometimes too.
I bath her one day, clip her off the next and do her feet as she gets really restless and fidgety when its feet time !!
The following day i might do legs and tail and the day after that her ears.
I used to out pressure on myself to get everything done in one go but i just go with the flow now and do as i please  :005:
People laugh at me because I'm different, but I laugh at them because they are all the same.
