Drinking & being sick
« on: March 11, 2014, 07:14:30 PM »
Hi,

Over the last 3 days or so, we've noticed Hugo is drinking a lot more than usual (we have to stop him from drinking) and then around 7pm he is sick (only a little bit).

We do have a lot of play at lunch time and he drinks in between this (due to panting etc!)

He seems no different in himself, still playful and is sleeping fine etc.

We did change his food and reduce him down to two meals about 3 weeks ago now (from JWB to Eden) but he seemed fine with the change, as I say this has only started happening in the last couple of days.

He has also started peeing on the floor when excited (something he has never done) and wanting to go out for a wee every half an hour or so. Which we let him out for as we don't want it on the floor!! However he is still lasting all night as usual?

Not sure whether I'm over reacting or whether a trip to the vets is in order?! He is 6 months now so I'm just wondering if maybe his teenage years are upon us and this is the explanation?

Your opinions would be appreciated :-)

Just to add, how much Eden would you guys recommend feeding (in grams) at 6 months old?

I would be inclined to try to get a sample and get it checked by the vet, just to rule out a urine infection.

Definitely pop to the vets to check for a UTI. If he has got a urine infection don't stop him from drinking, it's his bodies way of trying to flush out the problem.
