Clippers from Pets at Home
« on: April 25, 2014, 12:32:03 PM »
My clippers have broken  >:(

Ive got a set that i can do Candy with but they are not powerfull enough for Missy's really tight thick hair. I could do with getting some over the weekend.

Are the Wharl ones in PAH any good ?

Or

Any other recomendations for some i could pick up rather than order off the web.

In my experience, the cheaper pet clippers sold in pet stores don't cope well with very thick hair - they are not powerful enough. Wahl do make decent professional clippers so it depends on what these clippers you have seen are like but if they are around the £30-£40 mark, you may find they can't cope with Missy's hair. Unless you live near a supplier, I suspect you will have to order online if you want decent clippers :-\

We got some Wahl pet ones for £20-odd quid off Amazon, they work fine for us!

Yes it depends on the coat - they're fine for some Cockers but not for thick, woolly show type coats generally (think your girl is a worker?)

Yes she is, and we keep her very short anyway so there's never too much to go through. It did manage to through her fairly thick ruff on her first grooming though, she resembled a small , black lion  :005:
