Wow! that is different. Thinking about it I think mine might be the iphone app. Searching my memory I seem to recall downloading the iPad app when I got it but finding it wasn't as easy as the phone one so I deleted it and stuck with the phone version. I could be making that up of course!!! 
I think you are right, I can vaguely remember someone else saying they used the iPhone app instead of the ipad one for the same reason!
