I know it's her bum because that is what she used to do before she had her glands taken out. Laurie thinks with her anal gland op and spinal op sort of in the same area that she has phantom pain. I'm convinced it is from her bum, even if they can find nothing there. To me, the
Gabapentin is a bit like a sledgehammer to crack a nut approach. Thing is, when she is like that, I can give her a dose of Metacam and then she is fine. I know that she can't get an infection there anymore but wondered if there is just some part of the gland that occasionally gives her gyp.
Can people whose dogs have had the anal gland op let me know if they have ever had anything like this, with their dogs swinging round to check out their back end, even after the op?
