Does the Adaptil spray actually work?

Hi all,
so i am looking at ways to help reduce stress for Bonnie when she is left alone in the house. I have come across the Adaptil spray product which has mixed reviews on the websites that sell it. Before i purchase it, i was wondering if anyone has tried it and what your views are on it?

Think I remember using Adaptil for my collie who had problems with loud noises and fireworks and it worked pretty well, I don't know about leaving as she did not have a problem with that. Another one on the market you could possibly consider is from Pet Remedy link below:  I use it mainly for de stressing and to quieten down when on a high (usually a result of the cats in the neighbourhood: and a bit of the spray applied to a hanky and held out under nose (not too near nose ) does seem to have the desired effect in that I can get him on lead and lure him away.

I tried the Adaptil collar and diffuser for Bramble to try and calm her down and a couple of years later with Maddie for her general anxiety. I really don't think it made any difference to either of them.  I do, however, use Kalm Aid liquid for Maddie and do feel it takes the 'edge' off her anxiety.

Another recommendation for Pet Remedy here. It really made a difference to Archie when he was younger. I still use the spray for when he gets wound up. It's just won some sort of industry award but I'm not sure what exactly!
