Bed time becoming a stress
« on: January 07, 2016, 09:02:00 AM »
Hello everyone,
I am the proud servant of two lovely Cockers Alfie (5) and Mavs (Maverick 3)
since going back to work after the festive period Mavs seems to have big issue at bed time when we put them in their room for the night. he goes absolutely mental as though to say 'what do you think you are doing' we always stick by our word and he then settles once we have gone to bed.
although quite amusing with the 'attitude' my OH does get quite upset at leaving him like this.
has anyone been through the same? will he just go back to normal? (if there is such a thing in a Cocker) I was thinking it was some kind of SA but he is fine for the rest of the day.

Did you do anything different or change your normal routine over the holidays?

No nothing at all, bedtime is the only time of day when a door is closed on them and they have both always been fine.
funny thing is that he actually runs in there as he does throughout the day, as soon as he sees we are going to shut the door he goes fruit loop.

Did you stay up later over Christmas?
I find our Ellie is a "clocker" and very
attuned time wise so even if I was planning
to go to bed later because I wasn't getting up
for work she still wanted to be abed at the
regular time (and also breakfast at silly o'clock
in the morning :005:)
oh and welcome to COL :D

not really, we don't generally have a set time. we generally have to wake them to put them to bed anyway.
they are both aware of the time though so will keep that in mind thanks.  :D
