We've been up to lots!
« on: July 26, 2016, 12:41:55 PM »
Hi all,

It's been a little while so thought I would do a little update post about what Monty and I have been upto.

So... We've started agility! I was worried Monty was going to be a bit nervous of the equipment but boy was I wrong! He has taken to it like a duck to water and seems to find it all very easy and enjoyable! He's the noisiest in his class (down to pure excitement) but is definitely the fastest learner! He loves tunnels, he's getting good at weaves and we're working on the a frame and dog walk! We've got a little village show in 2 weeks with a mini agility course... So maybe we will come home with a rosette or two!

We've also been going to hydrotherapy for his hip dysplasia. We've been going for 5 weeks so far and he LOVES swimming! He actually cries to get into the pool, and has to be hauled out! At hydro he's also been having laser therapy on his hips. When we started 5 weeks ago there was a 1.5 centimetre difference in his hip muscles (this is quite a severe difference the lady said) He had them measured yesterday and they are both exactly the same size and have grown since the first measurement! The lovely lady was extremely impressed that the muscle had built so quickly, and I'm so happy!

We're also on a waiting list for a new brother for Monty due in the first week of November! Exciting times!

Sounds like good news all round!!! So glad Monty's doing so well, he's certainly seems to be enjoying life. Looking forward to hearing how he gets on at the village show and, of course, seeing pictures of his new baby brother!!

Thanks everyone! He's looking good at the moment! Trimmed down a lot and seems to be using his bad hip more which is a great sign! Will keep everyone posted on the village show! We're entering a few classes so fingers crossed!! [emoji4]

Lovely update, he is so gorgeous  :luv:. Maybe all the exercise is helping his hips, great news. Do post some picies from the show.

Great looking chap. This is the kind of dog that people will keep stopping you to make a fuss of him.

After swimming every week, for getting on 3-years, mine has really big muscles on the shoulder and thighs.
A 3ft wall is not an obstacle.

There is a woodland area here, with obstacles cut from trees, for kids to play. There aren't usually kids about during the week so I go there for agility work.
