Have a similar problem with Millie. Ear rubbing both sides, esp left. Suspect the right side irritation is due to one of many small under skin growths.
She had a horrible ear infection that cleared up with the use of antibs and new ear solution. Antibs also helped lip folds and tear streaks seemed to disappear.
Had a wonderful 3 weeks all clear!
Subsequently same ear produces greenish stinky gunk. Under vet instruction am repeating the previous treatment, but no difference noticed, her ear still very red sore. She's becoming resistant to me treating her too, which is unusual. Also her lower eylids are unusually really droopy: could this be a sign of pain?
I've suggested a grass seed, but vet says she cant see one. I'm beginning to wonder if it's penetrated the surface of the ear canal, which apparently was quite swollen/blocked. What do others think? At 15 yrs old next wk, I'm feeling cautious about putting her through an op, but this might be needed?
Here's the catch: we're currently away from home and due to move sites tomorrow by midday. Plan at this moment is to try to make an early appointment at a nearby vet to see what they say. Then either home or carry on with hols.
