nighttime incontinence
« on: October 21, 2024, 08:35:51 PM »
hi all my girl is 12 now and has recently started to wet herself at night when in deep sleep.  its the only time it happens she is fine during the day.  i have been letting her out alot and been getting up in the middle of the night to put her out to wee.  she has no idea she has wet in her bed because she is fast asleep.  no symptoms of a uti at all.  i guess its happened about 5 times this month.  she is fine in herself eating drinking, still wanting to play and have her woodland walks.  has anyone had similar with their dog, im guessing its her age and will have to take her to the vet for some medication to help.  any advice would be great, thanks.

I have had experience of this with my old dog Ollie. So I was dealing intially with an occasional night time wetting and being a male it was a very strong smell and I had concerns about his skin becoming sore etc.

At first I had a belly band from a company called Glenndarcy who also do female type products.
They come with a popper type washable pad, the product is really soft and worked really well, when he became a little more frequent I got an extra couple pads.

I think maybe there are similar types with disposable lining

Hope this helps - worth having a look!
Cocker kisses and cuddles just make my day!

You are always with me darlings Jaypup and my precious Oliver you are so missed

A friend and someone registered here as a member has wet dog mats she makes and designed to use just for this - I use them on the sofa and some use them in cars.
