Intercity trains in Ireland
« on: March 24, 2025, 08:06:10 AM »
Hello everyone!

We are sailors snd want to take our boat to the west coast of Ireland. Because of the changes to bringing dogs on private yachts I now have to bring him by a ferry and train!!

It seems they can only go on intercity trains in the guards van 🤦🏼‍♀️. Does anyone have experience of this? Is it noisy, is it secure?? Can I sit with him or visit to see if he is OK. He just s not used to a crate, other than his in our car.

I need to get my boy from Dublin to Cork in May.
I know I could rent a car but that is a much more expensive option given all the rest of the expenses!
Putting him in kennels is not an option he is part of the crew.

Thank you to anyone who can offer an experience or advice.

Regards K and Barley
