Has anyone else noticed that since the new format it is not possible to type the word w.o.c.k.e.r. in a post without it defaulting to 'working cocker'? :huh:
I have one of these cockers and I dont find it a derogatory term to use at all. Has there been a thread regarding objections to the use of this term that I've missed somewhere? It's a term of endearment. So why can't we use it anymore? Anyone else got anything to say on this?

and what about s.h.o.c.k.e.r which i feel more people get offended about that the w. word??? ;)

w.o.c.k.e.r doesn't bother me, it's easier to type... ph34r

was thinking about this on our walk (yep I really am that sad!!!) and I had what may be a brain wave - what about typing w ocker or working cocker

I think that is a great shame - I don't see w ocker as a derogatory term at all - sometimes I refer to Hattie as a working cocker , and sometimes as a w ocker - please - admin - let us use our discretion - we are grown ups after all - its not like its a swear word  :lol:

Blimey - how naive am I??  I hadn't even realised that working cocker could be seen as offensive or derogatory (hadn't read all of this thread closely enough  ph34r) 

so . . . . . . .  . . .my brain wave may not have been so clever after all  ph34r  sorry :embarassed: :embarassed:

Personally I dont see working cocker as being offensive - think its term of endearment - but maybe thats just me  ;)

i hadn't realised until a few working cocker posts a couple of months ago that it was offensive to some people...i thought just a term of endearment too ;)

I never gave it a second thought either - never thought of it as unpleasant.

Pete says they're not working cockers anyway, they are just currently between jobs!!  :005:

I was only assuming that it has been done because it was considered derogatory, I dont know that for certain. Has anyone actually complained? How about some comment from administrators?

Personally I think unless a working cocker has found this offensive and complained then there is no reason to have this set as a default to read working cocker. If there has been a change in policy, then surely  all the posts over the last five years are going to have be corrected or removed, (which will render some of them nonsense in the process).
 
Is it just a piece of automated word processing shortcuts on the new software that can be altered by the administrators or
Is this another case of political correctness gone mad? :police: ?
