Archie's Coat
« on: January 13, 2007, 08:13:09 AM »
Please bare with me as this may be a stupid query but im concerned about Archies coat. He is 5 months old but his coat is the same as when he was eight weeks old. It seems only his topknot and tail fur is growing but nothing else. He also looks like a bit of a scruff ball even though he a brushed/combed 3 times a week. There is a recent photo in the puppy section, also should his coat be gleaming?

Apologies for the rambling but all other cockers i know have really thick gorgeous coats. Archie is a show type cocker ( not shown, purely a spoilt pet/second chid  ::))

Would you like a swap for my fluffy bear Dyllan?
I'm sure someone who knows more will help in  moment. All I know is that they are all different. A cocker in the village looks like an afgan
with all his fur whereas Dyllan is more of a bear!

Obviously the coat is one big difference to Jasper then. This was Jasper at 9 months

Louie's coat is very like Archie though, he is developing a hairy chest and legs but his body is short, a quarter of his breeding is worker though, Lou's 6 months.

I wouldn't worry about it - he's still very young. Clive's coat is still developping and he's 15 months now. its only in the last month that a big section of puppy fluff has come out and he finally is starting to look his age. He was a scruff ball too  :D

Archie looks gorgeous  :luv:
