puppy games

Does anyone know any good puppy games to play while the weather's bad? We play the one from dog borstal when we hide a teat under one of 6 plastic cups and let him find it but he's bored of that now. Hide and seek's not working, don't know what I'm doing wrong- he won't find! Need somethng to play indoors with him, most of the ones I've found are for when he's alone or for outdoors

Lokis favourite game (he has been known to play for an hour at a time is a combination of tug and fetch. we play tugg for a bit then I launch the throw the toy out of the living room along the passage way, he brings it to me gives it the it starts again (and again and again  ::) ) I spose we are lucky that our flat is old and the passage way is quite long and combined with the length of the living room its a good game and it burns off some of his energy. Also if he is a little tired (or gets bored of our game) I do a bit of extra training with him and am trying to do a few extras to what we do in class (usual sit stay etc) we are trying to add sneak (crawl on belly) we have almost conquered roll over, I also have a few more I would like to try. The mental work will wear a pup out aswell.

Beware that tug games can overstimulate some pups --- after reading our conerns in the 'castration' thread then I wouldn't play tug just yet.

What about clicker training --- Karen Pryor's book is a good place to start (there are some others as well and also dvd/videos to help you along)

thank you. yes I agree with the tug of war games. he gets so wound up and aggressive with these, so the kids have been forbidden from playing them for just that reason, will maybe modify the game to a wee bit of fetch then extend it up the stairs or something. will also think about the clicker training.cheers

Things that he will need to work out.  Put a few treats in the tube from a loo roll or kitchen roll and fold the ends in.  Other people hide treats in an old tea towel or wrap in bits of paper and put them into a box with lots more paper - will take him ages to find them!  ;)  Otherwise Abby on here has got a book of games to play - http://www.cockersonline.co.uk/discuss/index.php?topic=22461.0 which sounds great  ;)
