nipping ankles

hiya , we have had our pup a day , and all she does is nip ankles , i know she is only playing but try and explain that to my 2 yr old daughter lol, any advice?

Lil'bit was three when Molo came to live with us - she perched on the back of the sofa where he couldn't reach her for a long time  :005:

hi your pup looks gorgeous  :blink:  when we first brought booby home he was on a nipping mission  :-\ but it passes they are just exploring (that was what we told anyhow  ::) )  but seriously it does pass just give him a toy as a distraction,  bobby is 15 wks now and we still have the odd nipping, and now its a firm no! and ignore him.

Aidee nipped my ankle when I didn't even realise he was there behind me :o It hurt and made me jump, so I think the yelp I let out scared him and he's not done that since :005:

I HAVE BEEN TELLING HER NO ALL DAY AND SHE SEEMS TO BE TAKING NOTICE , AND MY 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAS TAKEN TO SITTING ON TOP OF THE SETTEA  :005: :lol:

We have an eighteen month old and an 11 week old pup - she is told a firm loud 'no' when she gets too mouithy and it seems to be doing the trick! Be consistant!

A pup has to be taught what the word "no" means - it may react to tone of voice, but if it hears a stern voice too often then it will begin to tune it out as "normal"  ;)

I would suggest distraction, and lots of praise when they get it right, rather than "no, no, no" at this young age - as they get older and they learn what the word means, you will still get lots of use out of it  :005:
