Our Little Girls err. . . lady bits

Hi all.

We have recently had a new addition to the family in the form of Rosie who is now 9 1/2 weeks and is a blue roan bitch (I will get some pics of her on my atavar VERY soon cause she's gorgeous!)
My question is - that when i was rubbing her belly the other night i noticed that she was quite prominent in her nether regions  :005:.  Is this normal?  Also around the edges seemed quite red.  She does like to lick herself a lot down there and I'm just wondering if this is just 'what dogs do' or if I should let the vet take a look - it also looks like she has got a little flea bite on her belly too but I think this will clear up now she has just een frontlined

Any help gratefully appreciated

Hi and welcome to COL, can't wait to see pics of your new girl  :D   We have a 14 month old blue roan called Melody.

To be honest what you've described (the redness) doesn't sound normal and if she's constantly licking herself I'd be inclined to take her to the vet to be checked.

Welcome to COL! Can't wait to see pics :shades: :D

I agree though..it doesn't seem very normal but of course when my Mollie was a little baby ..her err...lady bits were a little red too :shades: :005:.. I would get it checked it out by the vet though as Mollie never really licked down there.  It could very well be nothing but with pups you just never know..

it's difficult with a young puppy - but does she seem to be weeing more often or showing any signs of discomfort when she does? She could have an infection if she looks swollen and red and is licking herself a lot.

Try and get a sample from her and let a vet take a look.
