Glad you seem to have identified the problem Michele - at least you are pretty sure she is on the right meds for it.  :-\

Hope little Florrie picks up and is able to come home to you tomorrow  ;)

I have 2 cats that have had Giardia. Bailey recovered very quickly once on the metro.......tablests but poor Hodge had lots of other issues which bafled the vets as he kept being positive for Giardia.....

Just caught up with this thread, so sorry to hear that little Florence hasn't been well but relieved that you have now got to the bottom of it. Hope she comes home soon  Kelly xxx :D

Just had a call from the vet and she says Florence has really perked up in the last two hours and is coming up to the front of the pen and wagging her tail . She still hasn't eaten but she's not over concerned as she still has a way to go, and she hasn't vomited.  :shades:

I've told her about the Giardia and she thanked me for the info which obviously will be helpful.

Being as they have there own website I don't think there's any wrong in posting a link, but THIS is who has been caring for Florence and is on duty overnight (I thought she finished at 10 but it seems not  :-\)
She might not have been qualified that long but she seems to know her stuff AND is really nice. :shades:

Thank you once again for all your good wishes, I've heard other people say it and it might sound corny but it really does help.

Just caught up with this Michele - what a worrying day you've had! Glad little Florence has perked up a bit and hopefully she'll be back home with her family very soon. At least you know she is in good hands and being well looked after all night - your vet sounds a good 'un ;)

Out of curiosity I've just put 'Manuka' and 'Giardia' into Google and guess what "it creates a hostile environment for the protozoa", so it didn't do her any harm trying the honey.  :shades:

I had to google manuka honey because I'd never heard if it. Very interesting!
